First Year of College

Wow, so today marks the last day of my freshman year here at CSU.
I did not do so well in my classes this semester, but that is okay, i am going to bring my GPA up by doing summer school this summer and trying to get ahead in my classes. I am ready for it, but am a little nervous because the classes are essay based and essays and I don't get a long too well, but hopefully this will be alright. I am also signed up for a STATS class and am actually really looking forward to that!

This year has gone by extremely fast and I cannot believe i am off to my first summer of college! I am not ready for next year although i am already looking into it. I have also looked into my trip to England and cannot believe it is going to cost me $15,000 and am freaking out A LOT I do not have the money for that, nor do I have a way to come up with that. I have no job and have been looking for a while. I really, really want to go, but it is looking like I don't know how i am going to get over there. Either way, i am excited this year is over. It has had a lot of ups and downs, but it has been worth it I believe.

I met some AMAZING people through my volunteer group and also from living in the dorms. Some of the people I hope to keep in contact with come next year, others I do not mind forgetting about-especially many of the people in my hall.

I loved hanging out upstairs first semester in Waldo in Nathan's room.... and meeting Justin and Liz.  I loved having bio with Nathan and Eddie..... that included some great memories especially our study sessions..... haha, ooh how we didn't actually study half the time.
Also, during first semester I got to go to Denver with my volunteer group whom i have come to love and appreciate everyone of them! I would not have made it through this year without them because they gave me a good outlook on the college and the people here.

Second semester brought some big hurddles as I really had a bad time getting into the swing of things after winter break. I also lost contact with Nathan for a good portion of it.... we are sort of talking now, but it isn't how it was first semester which is very odd, and i still to this day haven't figured out what happened between us because we can no longer hold a decent conversation. Eddie and I have gotten closer too, and saw each other at least twice a week no matter what was going on. Jessica, Eddie and I went to Invisible Children in Denver and met up with one of Eddie's friends from High School. We had a great time there and were supporting a cause we all cared about. I also did Relay for Life with Elliott, Shannon, Cody, and Audrey and that was an experience. I wish i would be here for it next year, but i will surely walk in spirit! This past semester I was also able to go to Colorado Springs with my Alternative Weekend group, and take the long 6 hour drive to South Dakota with also. I wouldnt' change it for anything, we had some great memorable moments through all of our meetings and experiences together!!!!
This semester has also had some down things, with getting in fights with family members and friends.... this just showed me that I do not need all the people I had in my life there anymore. I don't need to be used nor do I need to clutter my life with crazy people that have no sense especially fellow members of my family. This has been a huge growing experience and I am really grateful for it! This semester has also come with hardships with the passing of my friend Whitney on March 17, 2009. She was a sweet amazing girl, and I will always miss her and she will always be in my thoughts.

I also got to babysit Riley, Aiden and Jake and it has been great seeing them grow up over the last two years!!! I cannot believe it has been two years! I hope to be able to stay connected to the family over the next years and watch them all grow up! They are such great kids, with great parents watching over them, and I am so thankful for being accepted into the family and both Gregg and Janelle wanting me to watch the kids as often as they do.

I am ready for this summer and I am hoping i get a job, anywhere at this rate!! I am so ready to get away with so much work, although I am taking three classes, i will have a break if i can get to England. Fall semester should also bring some exciting times as I will be in the newest dorm on campus! We will have air conditioning, and also wireless internet. We will also have the best dinning center on the campus which will be amazing! I love eating there now, and i live about a 10 minute walking distance now..... which isn't far, but it is when you are on a time crunch. I also will be cutting down on all junk food I eat, which i have been lately but I will be eating organic food other then what I eat at the dinning center with will include a salad and fruit. I will be getting the smallest meal plan to help with this, and to try and save money for my trip and save the little bit of financial aid i did receive this year.

Well, I don't really know what else to say other then saying thanks to everyone for helping me through this semester and allowing me to become the person I have become today!
